My birthday celebration began Friday afternoon when Em and I met up at Cone E. Island on the GW campus, and she treated me to a scoop of honey bun. It might be my new favorite flavor - perfect amount of cinnamon and swirls of dough. I had to smile when I noticed the not-so-subtle "encouragement" to order the largest cone.

That evening, I met up with three of my girlfriends for a Southern meal al fresco. Using the "it's your birthday weekend" excuse to order whatever I wanted, I enjoyed a roasted chicken stuffed with ham, cornbread, and granny smith apples. Mashed potatoes and green beans were served on the side.

It was quite the appropriate meal for a night of country dancing . . and the weekend had only just begun.

I love your shirt!!! The ice cream cone sign was cute too. :) Which cone did you go with?
Mmm...southern cooking. :) And honeybun ice cream sounds so good! Sounds like a fun day!
Yum! That dinner sounds delish!! I usually ask for the big cone because it tastes better, but tell them not to put too much ice cream in it (although, really, is there such a thing as too much ice cream!?)
Glad you enjoyed your birthday!
wow. that just might be the largest piece of chicken i've ever seen..
