Other than staying up entirely too late on Saturday and subsequently wasting almost all of a beautiful Sunday, my weekend included a very fun hangout with a girl I'd say I've "known" for a few years now.
A blog friend!
Outside Oklahoma! as well as her husband K and two of his friends.
The moment I saw her, I was jumping in the back of their car to ride along in search of a parking spot. It's so funny to me how comfortable and easy a first meeting can be when you've gotten to know someone through a little journal on the Internet.
I love the web!
Our first destination was the National Building Museum, where OO and K were picking up their t-shirts for the Cherry Blossom 10-miler on Sunday. We browsed the racks of discount gear and grabbed a few thing's with K's military discount before driving to the Mall in search of a few remaining cherry blossoms.
But there were beautiful tulips to admire along the way. We snapped away with our fancy cameras. I bet mine turned out better since I use a Nikon. ;)

How fun! I love her! I was hoping that we'd be closer to her when we were visiting VA last year but she was out of town while I was there. Looks like a fun meetup. And I agree about how easy it is to talk to someone you've had a blog relationship with. I've met a couple of blog friends & both times it was like visiting with an old friend!
1) Someday I'll post about this too! It's been a busy week!
2) After you left, the guys were asking how I knew you. I had to 'fess up and tell them that we had technically just met for the first time in person. We totally fooled them!
3) Your tulip picture is awesome! I haven't gotten to look at mine yet, but I bet my Canon totally killed.
4) I was totally not ready for that first picture!
5) Or the second. Although the Nikon was probably to blame. ;) ;)
6) The ice cream may have been expensive, but it was a great idea. Kudos to you!
7) Next time you make your way to Southern VA? When will that be?!
How FUN that you got to meet outside Oklahoma! Also, I love that I'm not the only one who thinks staying up way too late one night can waste the next day - glad yours was only almost!
National Building Museum is one of my favorite places in DC! I think I'll get married there... if I find a boy, and if I become a millionare.
Aww, I miss OO!! I loved hanging out with her when she lived here in Dallas. She's SO cool, so fun, so laid back, and so funny!!! And K and his buddies are super fun too!!
