"Have fun rummaging through dead people's stuff," our friend said. My co-worker and I were off to an estate sale to basically do just that. Like a yard sale only much more expensive, estate sales often have antiques or unique pieces you can't find at a store. The difference is that these items aren't unwanted, they're just . . "unneeded". After all, you can't take anything with you when you die. I found quite a few pieces of furniture I wished I could justify buying, but in the end these are the items I walked away with:
an adorable scarf for my handbag
map to hang above the couch (Although I find it a little boring, empty space is much worse.)

I think you can find the best stuff at an estate sale!
I love that blue dish! So pretty. It must need some chocolates in it, right? ;)
Also, I'm the proud owner of red living room furniture too. I love it!
I will wait patiently with the Lord at my only strength until the day you decide to at least call me "co-worker/friend" instead of just "co-worker."
if i wasn't trying to downsize - i'd totally be all over that estate sale with you.
to L's coworker - i used to call my best friend my "roommate" instead of my "friend" when she certainly was more important in my life as a friend than as a roommate. bad habit!! one of you guys will just have to quit your job so you can "upgrade" :)
great finds, i actually really love the map picture, i don't think it's boring at all!
Wow! You got some great stuff!!!
And too funny about your co-worker, I mean friend. :)
How fun! I love that blue bowl too!
My parents used to drag my brother and me to so many estate sales so they could find antiques. Oh, I hated it!!! (But I was also a kid who would rather have been playing than having to walk quietly through someone else's house looking at their things.)
And to L's co-worker -- What about being called a "friend/co-worker" instead of the opposite? I think that says more. :)
I have that exact same map! It's actually from a set of 4. I have 2, and my mom has the other 2. We have them in our hallway and they are perfect there.
LOVE that pan, and your other buys!
